Why this site. Great Zimbabwe is where colonial denial of African engineering was at its most brazen, and where the correction is most complete: this monument gave the modern country its name. We will not compound that history by inventing a test we did not run. Our atlas currently holds no other catalogued site within 200 kilometres, so our geometry engine has nothing to measure against and we say so. Sub-Saharan Africa is the largest gap in our coverage and closing it is on the roadmap. The documented history is already remarkable without a hidden network.
