What are Antiquity and Empires?
Two free layers. Antiquity strips the modern world off the map, roads, borders and present-day labels, and raises 58 great cities of the ancient world under their own names. Empires draws 16 civilisations at their greatest extent, each with an engraved seal at its capital. Both are included on the free tier.
What are Documented Alignments and Gnomon Shadow?
Two free tools added in September 2026. Documented Alignments lists what archaeoastronomers have actually measured at 17 famous sites: 48 sourced entries, each tagged documented, contested, claimed or rejected, recomputed by the map for the site latitude and building epoch, with an Azimuth Identifier for testing your own measurements. Gnomon Shadow draws the shadow-tip track of a vertical rod for any place, date and epoch at true scale. Both are included on the free tier.
How do I connect my AI to the map?
