Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Pyramason, the database, research tools, Pro subscription and how it all works.

Getting Started
Pyramason is a research platform for ancient mysteries. It combines an interactive 3D map of more than 187,500 ancient sites across 270 countries and territories with tools for sacred geometry analysis, ley line detection, AI-powered research reports, astronomical alignments, frequency exploration and community collaboration. Think of it as a professional research toolkit for anyone fascinated by the ancient world.
Yes — the core map is completely free. Free users get access to:
  • All more than 187,500 ancient sites with full search and filters
  • 3D globe and terrain view
  • Discovery Mode (random site explorer)
  • Frequency Centre, Earth Grid, Antipode Calculator
  • Draw & Measure tools
  • Standard snapshot export and limited data export
Pro features are available at £12.99/month and unlock AI tools, sacred geometry, ley lines, community features and more.
No — you can explore the full map without an account. Creating a free account lets you save favourites, access community features and manage your subscription if you upgrade to Pro.
Pyramason runs in any modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). It works on desktop, tablet and mobile — though we recommend desktop or laptop for the best research experience, particularly for sacred geometry and ley line analysis tools. WebGL must be enabled (it is by default in all modern browsers).
The Database
Our database is built entirely from open-licensed sources:
  • Wikidata (CC0 Public Domain) — 165,139 sites
  • Pleiades Gazetteer (CC-BY 3.0) — 22,411 sites, specialising in ancient world geography
All data is legally sourced, fully documented with provenance records, and free of proprietary restrictions. We do not use the Megalithic Portal or any paid database.
Pyramason currently includes 16 categories: Pyramids & Ziggurats, Temples, Stone Circles, Dolmens, Standing Stones, Burial Mounds, Passage Tombs, Rock Art, Fortifications, Settlements, Crosses, Roman Sites, Sacred Sites, Cathedrals, Monasteries, and UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
All sites are sourced from established open databases and include coordinates, names, country, and where available, region data. Coordinates are verified at source. That said, archaeological databases are always evolving — if you spot an error or have a correction, you can contact us at contact@pyramason.com.
Yes. As open-licensed sources are updated and expanded, we update our database accordingly. We also plan to add a community contribution system that allows verified users to suggest new sites with supporting sources.

Yes. All site data is sourced from CC0 (Wikidata) and CC-BY 3.0 (Pleiades) open databases. You are free to use and cite the data in academic work. For bulk dataset licensing or commercial use enquiries, contact contact@pyramason.com.
Research Tools
Sacred Geometry Analysis detects mathematical proportions and geometric patterns between selected ancient sites — including phi (golden ratio), Pythagorean triangles and other significant ratios. Select multiple sites on the map and run the analysis to see if their layout contains deliberate geometric relationships. AI interpretation explains what the detected patterns may mean in historical and cultural context.
Ley lines are straight alignments drawn between ancient sites. Use the Ley Line tool to draw lines across the map connecting multiple sites. Pyramason will calculate the alignment accuracy, distance and which sites fall along the path. Pro users also get AI analysis explaining the significance of the alignment in historical, astronomical and cultural terms.
Click any site on the map and open its info panel, then click AI Research. Pyramason sends the site's details to Claude AI (Anthropic) which generates a deep research report covering the site's history, archaeological significance, competing theories, known measurements, cultural context and connections to other sites. Each report is generated fresh and tailored to the specific site.
Astral Projection is an immersive first-person flight mode. You can fly freely across the ancient world using keyboard or mouse controls, create custom waypoint paths for cinematic flythroughs, and record video footage with Pyramason branding. It's available exclusively for Pro subscribers.
Technical
Pyramason is built on Mapbox GL JS for 3D maps and globe, Supabase for the database and authentication, Claude AI (Anthropic) for all AI research features, Turf.js for geodesic calculations, and is deployed via Netlify.
