Why this site. Babylon carries more myth-versus-fact confusion than almost any site in the atlas: the Hanging Gardens that may have been at Nineveh, the gate that is mostly in Berlin, the name collision with Old Cairo. Our two geometry tests split here. The golden ratio finds less than chance predicts; collinear alignments come back at p = 0.0125. Worth noting before anyone gets excited: Mesopotamian sites string out along the Tigris and Euphrates, and rivers make straight lines without anyone planning them. We print the number and the reason to be careful with it.
